The IAFP works to collaborate with community partners across the state on a variety of topics relevant to family doctors and their patients. See below for some of our featured collaborations and more information on this work.
Idaho Kids Covered
Idaho Kids Covered (IKC) is a statewide network of health care policy experts, advocates and stakeholders committed to ensuring every Idaho child has the health coverage and care they need to thrive! As of 2019, 24,000 children in Idaho did not have health coverage. The Idaho Academy of Family Physicians is a proud steering committee member of IKC.

Idaho Foodbank
The IAFP sits on the Idaho Foodbank’s Hunger to Health Advisory Committee. In this role, we are supporting IFB’s efforts to link solutions to food insecurity with resources and locations associated with medical care such as co-location of services, bi-directional pantry/healthcare screenings and interventions, food insecurity screening and reporting, and referral to food/nutrition assistance.

Idaho Council on Suicide Prevention
The IAFP sits on the Idaho Council on Suicide Prevention. The Council’s responsibilities are to oversee the implementation of the Idaho Suicide Prevention Plan, to ensure the continued relevance of the plan by evaluating, implementing, and developing changes and new priorities, to be a proponent for suicide prevention in Idaho, and to prepare an annual report on plan implementation for the Governor and Legislature.
